TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited or TOA, the leading innovator in the paint, construction chemicals, and surface finishing materials industry in Thailand, has launched a major campaign titled “SuperShield: The Ultimate Home Protection”. This campaign reaffirms its position as the true market leader in building paints, backed by the success of SuperShield paint, which has earned the trust of consumers and leading projects nationwide for over 4 decades. The campaign also features a new advertisement starring top rockstar “Toon - Bodyslam”, sharing experiences of protecting homes and loved ones with the cutting-edge Triple Technology, which incorporates ‘Titanium, Barium, and Silica Aerogel’ to reflect sunlight by up to 99.2%, while also showcasing global standards with the first EPD label in Thailand covering all paint products.

Mr. Jaturaput Tangkaravakoon, CEO of TOA, stated that Thailand is currently facing a continuously rising average temperature due to the El Niño phenomenon and global warming, which directly impacts energy consumption in residential areas, particularly with air conditioning systems that have become a major electricity expense for households. Statistical data indicates that energy used for air conditioning can account for 50–60% of total electricity consumption in homes during the summer.

SuperShield has reinforced its durability with QUV testing for up to 7,000 hours, exceeding the standard by 7 times, ensuring that SuperShield can withstand Thailand's weather conditions for over 18 years. This has been proven through actual use in significant building projects across the country, including residential buildings and high-rises that maintain their beauty and durability even after more than 20 years of use.

Today, SuperShield has evolved beyond just being a durable house paint; it represents a commitment to developing innovations to address the global warming crisis and help reduce indoor temperatures, thereby alleviating the electricity burden for Thai people with the Triple Technology that combines three key technologies:

1. Nano Titanium: Small, highly durable particles that are densely distributed and arranged in a color film resembling a protective armor, enhancing wall strength to withstand all weather conditions in Thailand.
2. Barium: Special high-fineness pigment particles that strengthen the protective barrier, reflecting solar heat radiation (Solar Reflectance) by up to 99.2% and emitting heat from walls (Thermal Emittance) by up to 90%.
3. Silica Aerogel: A unique component in SuperShield, the only one in Thailand with thermal insulation properties, serving as the final barrier against heat, preventing heat from penetrating the interior walls. With its hollow nano-sized particles containing air, it has low thermal conductivity, preventing heat from sunlight that remains after reflection from entering the house, allowing walls to avoid heat accumulation during the day, resulting in a cooler home when air conditioning is turned on.

According to tests conducted with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patthana Rakkhamsuk, an expert from the Faculty of Environmental Energy and Materials at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, under a research project on the influence of solar reflectance values of building paints on energy savings and indoor temperatures, using energy simulation with the EnergyPlus program developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, calculations were based on a living space of 220 square meters with 4 residents, running air conditioning for about 13 hours a day, and painting approximately 244 square meters. It has been proven that SuperShield paint can reduce indoor temperatures by up to 8.1 degrees Celsius and reduce the workload of air conditioning, resulting in electricity savings of up to 38.3%, equivalent to a maximum value of approximately 13,700 baht per year.

Additionally, in the latest advertisement, “Brother Toon - Bodyslam” appears with his family to share the story of their dedication to building a new home in a coastal area with high heat and humidity, choosing SuperShield as a shield to protect the happiness of their family, trusting in the quality proven over 45 years and the QUV testing that exceeds the standard by 7 times, with the concept that “The home and family they love the most are protected at all times with SuperShield paint from TOA.”

The success of SuperShield is not limited to durability alone but also aims for the Net Zero goal for sustainability under TOA's 7-GREEN MISSION. It is among the first paint products to receive international environmental standards certifications, such as the CFR label (Carbon Footprint Reduction), certifying that the product's production process and life cycle help reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly.

Recently, TOA has elevated Thai industry standards to an international level by being the first in Thailand to receive the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) label, which comprehensively covers all paint product categories in a systematic and complete manner. This label provides environmental information about the product from the Thai Environmental Institute (TEI), type 3 according to ISO 14025 standards, detailing the composition and environmental impacts throughout the product's life cycle (Life Cycle Assessment; LCA), from raw material selection, production, transportation, to disposal, with clear quantitative measurements.

This is another important testament to TOA's commitment to advancing sustainability towards the NET ZERO goal by 2050 through the 7-GREEN strategy in all business processes, reflecting its commitment to driving the organization towards environmental goals and conducting business responsibly for sustainability based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. #TOA #ทีโอเอ
